Electronic cigarette is the best choice to quit smoking
Feb 14, 2023
On September 29, 2022, the British government's official website released the latest independent report on e-cigarettes, "Nicotine e-cigarettes in England: Evidence Update in 2022". The report mentioned that electronic cigarettes are still the most commonly used and most successful smoking cessation aids for British smokers, and their harmfulness and addiction are far less than traditional cigarettes.

The report points out that in 2019, only 11% of the UK regions provided smokers with smoking cessation services related to electronic cigarettes, while in 2021 this figure has increased to 40%. In addition, 15% of the UK regions said that they would provide this service for smokers in the future.
At the same time, from April 2020 to March 2021, only 5.2% of the people who tried to quit smoking used electronic cigarettes under the recommendation of the government. However, the results showed that the success rate of electronic cigarette assisted smoking cessation was as high as 64.9%, ranking first among all smoking cessation methods. In other words, many smokers are actively choosing to use electronic cigarettes to quit smoking.
In addition, the report also showed that the biomarkers of toxicant exposure related to cancer, respiratory system and cardiovascular system diseases in e-cigarette users were significantly lower than those in cigarette users, which further verified the harm reduction potential of e-cigarettes.
This report was issued by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID), formerly known as the Department of Public Health (PHE). Since 2015, the UK Department of Public Health has issued evidence review reports on electronic cigarettes for eight consecutive years, providing an important reference basis for the UK to formulate smoking control policies. As early as 2018, the department has emphasized in the report that the harm of electronic cigarettes is at least 95% lower than that of cigarettes.
In addition, OHID also updated the smoking cessation guide for doctors in April this year, and emphasized in the section of smoking cessation assistance that "doctors should promote electronic cigarettes to patients with smoking habits to help them better quit smoking".
We provide elfbar, fuse, elux, masking and other products, which can be communicated at any time.
The report calls for the accurate transmission of relevant information about electronic cigarettes in order to correct people's misunderstanding of them. Because the public's wrong perception of electronic cigarettes will prevent them from using electronic cigarettes to quit smoking. For example, when warning minors to stay away from electronic cigarettes, we should not let these warning messages mislead adult smokers.
It is reported that this report is the last in a series of independent reports on e-cigarettes, which means that the existing evidence is sufficient to help the British government improve its tobacco control policy and promote e-cigarettes more efficiently to help it achieve the goal of a smoke-free society by 2030.
